the movement begins...

It all started with a question...why don't Apostolic young people get together more? It's like we have this unspoken rule that we can only come together at youth camps and at Atlanta Youth Convention (if you can afford it)! Yes-there may be a few churches who get together for rallies and such, but not often in the Metro-Atlanta area.

So, I figured if I kept waiting on somebody to provide this much needed outlet for our young people, it might never happen. That's when I contacted a young, energetic Youth Pastor named Michael Patterson and pitched the idea of combining our youth groups for a couple of youth services so our young people could get to know "other" young people just like them. We did and the first "combined" youth service we had 103 people show up. NO major announcements. NO official advertising. We told a couple people what we wanted to do and they showed up.

God had dealt with me about the urgency of this event, but not even I was prepared for what would happen. I figured we would have a couple of "combined" serivices in 2007 and then hopefully we could take this idea on tour. My vision at the time was to hit the four corners of Atlanta with this idea of Apostolic Youth Groups coming together for a time of intimate worship, encouragement, and life-change!

This coming together concept gave birth to what I now call fusion_atl. The definition of fusion is a merging of diverse elements into a unified whole; an occurrence that involves the production of a union; the act of fusing (or melting) together.

So, fusion_atl is a merging together of diverse elements (different churches, different styles, different personalities) into a unified whole or union (what Jesus refers to as His BODY)!

fusion_atl is NOT about our individual churches or our individual youth groups with our own identities. fusion_atl is about coming together as the Body of Christ and worshipping the Father in spirit and in truth. It's about real young people who have real struggles fusing together with other young people who are just like them and realizing that they're NOT alone and that God loves them right where they are.

Let me close with this...fusion_atl is NOT about politics or organizations...it's a movement and the movement begins...in 2007!

fusion_atl is coming to a city near you...

I like the signoff:
fusion_atl Visionary

The "key" is our burden for vision.
Clearly, Pastor Clack is leading us all toward a movement for focusing on Jesus...in unity...isn't this the real reason He came? Can't wait! Oak Park Church,in Jonesboro-Stockbridge is on the schedule for April 20, 2007.

I believe the vision of Pastor Clack is great. We, as the Body of Christ, need to come together more often. Fusion_Atl is all about Jesus Christ! We will come together to Worship and lift up the Name of Jesus. We will come together to encourage each other and inspire and equip young people to go back to their home church and share the Gospel of Christ with everyone they come in contact with. This will not be just another "get-together" or "fellowship", this will be a movement of young people who are serious about their relationship with Jesus Christ and are passionate about reaching the lost.
I believe God is going to do great things through Fusion_Atl!

I love you all,
Michael A. Patterson.

Rockin! This is a long needed burden and Mission. Way to Go Pastor Clack. Before I left Atlanta and moved to TN, Noah and I wanted to see something like this happen. I am glad it is here and now in God's timing. Send me info on the first one and I will do everything in my power to make it.

Another thing, When are you going regional with this Cutting Edge idea?
